Michał’s story

Container Team Leader

At BFI from 2018

  • How do you recall your recruitment?

I always smile whenever I do! I came to the interview, saw two guys –– one in a T-shirt, the other barefoot –– and I thought: “This is going to be interesting”. They were looking for new solutions and I already had experience in container transport. We followed the fact that BFI has growth in its DNA, so we almost immediately laid out a plan to build and develop the container team. I felt I was creating something that would have a future. This was my first major project, which continues to this day!

  • How does BFI support you in your career development?

In fact, it all depends on myself. Depending on where I want to be in, for example, the next two years, I know that Piotr and Łukasz will do everything they possibly can to help me achieve this. If I wanted to go to university? They would help me get in! Extra training in transport or team management, or foreign language courses? No problem! It is why the growth here is progressing really quickly. If it were not for this support, trust, and directing to new opportunities, then my team would not be as large as 15 people today!

  • What motivates you to come to work every day?

My whole team. The fact that we have created something really cool. I can see that they also want to be here and love it. What drives me is that together we can achieve goals that seemed to be unrealistic in the past, but they are very close now.

  • How would you describe BFI in three words?

Get. Shit. Done [laughs]. To go further, what I think is “You’ll never be alone; Let’s get this done; The sky is the limit”.
